This gift is a celebration of the science of smol. We can’t deny it: small things are cute. And what can possibly be any cuter than your pet? How about a teeny tiny itty bitty version of your pet?!
Tiny Dog Paintings pays homage to your pawed and clawed darlings in miniature, but this is no average doodle of your doodle. These paintings exquisitely condense the intricate details of your fur baby into petite portraiture that can be displayed in a beautiful gold frame, nestled into a delicate locket, presented proudly on your phone case, or printed onto a t-shirt to model at the dog park (#dogmomgoals amirite?!).
The artist, Ming, is based in Malaysia and turned pandemic-time unemployment into the opportunity to extend her craft to pet lovers around the world. Ming just started opening commission slots on the first of each month through her new website (plan ahead on your orders – turnaround time is at least 1 month). She did my portrait as a Christmas gift for my Dad, and it is one of our most prized possessions. She perfectly captured my bandana-clad beauty on canvas – seriously guys, it’s like a pocket-size Vogue cover – and on a comfy t-shirt for Mom (see: our blog logo!).
My Aunt Chloe has three dogs and for her birthday we got her a portrait of each pooch. We also sent one to Mom’s friends who bought a new home and welcomed a new baby – just to remind the little one which baby was there first! Ming perfectly portrayed each of my cousins’ unique traits and personalities as well as my floppy-eared friend, Cody, from the photos we sent. Everyone looks as adorable, if not more so, than the real flesh and fur. This is truly the ideal gift for every dog Dad and mutt Mom in your life.
